How Did I Get Here?

Hi my name is Raziel317, I am 46 and like some others I have not had an easy life, better than many I am sure but worse that others too, why does that matter for the channel, pull up a chair and I’ll tell you.

At 7 I lost my dad, I remember seeing it too but nothing before that. I was raised by a verbally and physically abusive step father and due to that I was a rebellious little bastard. I caused a lot of trouble and spent years in a children’s home for that, whoever I never really wanted for anything, we were poor but mum looked after me, potentially too much.

To get away from everything I lost myself in games when I got my first machine the ZX Spectrum. I moved on to the Spectrum 128, the Commodore 64, Amiga, Amiga 128, then I graduated to consoles. I started at around the time of the Sega Megadrive and Super Nintendo, I had a CD32, the Dreamcast, N64, Atari Jaguar, Playstation, GameCube, Xbox…I could go on but you the idea.

Gaming became a way for me to hide from the things I didn’t want to face and I pretty much did that for many years. I am not the best player or really good but I know what I like but play loads and don’t finish a massive amount lol. I think I did back in the day but less so now.

When World of Warvcraft came in the scene I was heavy into PC and I lost myself in there for years. When I was broken, from 2009 to 2013, I was unable to leave my house and WoW kept from doing something stupid, that and my amazing partner, Kazmo317.

I met my her thanks to my love of PC’s, we met our best friends through PS2 gaming playing “Socom” in the clan the “Dirty Dozen”, I hope you guys are well and taking care of your loved ones. I miss you all.

Gaming has been good to me, too good really, I am not as active and svelte as I should be because of it but I love it. I love my PC, , I love my Xbox, not so bothered with my PS4 nowadays but Sony hate PC, as much as we hate Microsoft, Phil Spencer is forward thinking and looking to look after the PC. I love the gaming industry despite the amazing misjudgments it makes at times.

So Why am I here, to give back, to pass on some of what I have experienced and learnt, to use some of my experience to influence smaller studios and game, to help people make decisions, to pass on my opinions on the stream and via the review site but also to be a lesson that we all need to stop gaming once in a while and get up and go out or at the very least some exercise.

Step into the Outside of the Asylum* with me and venture to the farthest reaches of unlimited galaxies to see the vibrant worlds and parallel versions of our own world, experience the many varied stories and experiences told in millions of interactive adventures awaiting you in the games created by a myriad of diverse people from the myriad of cultures our planet has.
